This Plug-in provides automatic, basic-information slugs for InDesign CS documents, and updates crucial items such as date, time, computer, and so on, on each page.

PageSlug ID will either create a slug if it didn’t exist or update the current slug in the exact size and location whenever a document is printed or saved,. After a slug is created, move it anywhere and resize or rotate it. Subsequent updates will then take place in the new size, position, and angle.

User Name is first derived from the computer’s network user name. To set it to a new name, use the user name field in the PageSlug palette. Add an optional note which can contain unlimited information and will travel with the document.

Handling number is similar to a serial number in that every time a document is opened, the left part rises incrementally and every time it’s printed during that session, the right part rises incrementally. By example, if it’s the third print on the tenth opening, the handling number is 10.3.

The document name is derived from the last part of the file-path entry. Slugs are created automatically in the slug area of the document (and the area is created using InDesign slug parameters, similar to bleed). The slugs can be subsequently moved from the default area without incident.
