EtchTone Filter

Features

The EtchTone Filter is a multiplatform, Photoshop-compatible Plug-in. Starting with a grayscale or color illustration or photo, the Plug-in combines an etch pattern (black and white) with the original image to create an EtchTone. The image becomes a continuous-tone screen that results in a classic, old printing look that softens the harshness of solid black-and-white line screens. Depending upon the EtchTone effect desired, the filter will either overlay the etch or blend the etch into a continuous-tone image.

Features:

• unique process for simulating the look of steel etching;

• start with grayscale, RGB, or CMYK photograph or illustration;

• adjust amount of steel etch in an original image;

• adjust original image sharpness, brightness, contrast;

• vary the mix of original image and the etch pattern;

• view EtchTone-ing at 1:1; and

• identifies controls that are moused over.
